Privacy Policy
This is a plain-language draft written to match what the site and app actually do today. It is not legal advice. Have the final text reviewed before publishing if the site or the cloud service serves personal data.
Short version
- Recording and editing happen on your machine. Nothing is uploaded unless you choose a cloud feature.
- The marketing website (this page) sets no first-party cookies and runs no analytics.
- The only cloud data processing is optional: 8K upscaling and publishing clips.
- Purchases are handled by a payment provider; we never see your full card details.
What this applies to
This policy covers the DemoThat website at demothat.yahodu.in and the DemoThat desktop app (macOS, Windows, Linux) and the cloud service it connects to. It does not cover third-party sites we link to, such as GitHub.
Information we collect on the website
The website is a static page. It sets no first-party cookies, does not run analytics, and does not collect names, emails, or contact details. It is served by a hosting provider (Vercel) that keeps standard server logs for security and reliability.
The page loads the Geist typeface from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and
fonts.gstatic.com). When fonts load, your IP address is sent to Google and
Google’s own privacy and cookie policies apply to that request. Team portraits are
loaded from GitHub’s image CDN (avatars.githubusercontent.com).
Information the app processes
- Local by default. Screen and audio capture, editing, captions and export run on your machine. Your recordings are not uploaded unless you start a cloud feature.
- Cloud upscaling. If you upscale a video, we receive the video file, process it on cloud GPUs, and return the upscaled result. The file is held only long enough to deliver the result.
- Publishing. If you publish a clip, it is stored so your share/embed link works.
- Account and license status. Activating Pro and tracking your credit balance require the cloud to know your license. Registration itself is minimal and may be device-based.
Payments
Purchases (the Pro license and credits) are processed by a third-party payment provider. Payment card details are entered with and stored by that provider; we do not see or store your full card number.
Cookies and consent
The website sets no first-party cookies. If analytics or advertising are ever introduced, a cookie-consent banner will be added and this policy updated. Google Fonts may set its own cookies, governed by Google’s policies.
Retention
Cloud upscaled files and published clips are retained only as long as needed to provide the service or as required by applicable law. You can request deletion of published clips.
Your rights
Depending on where you are, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export the personal data we hold, and to object to or restrict its processing. To exercise them, contact us through the project’s GitHub repository.
